Business Development Team Lead
What You'll Do
- Lead new business development for AI Digital’s Smart Supply offering, with a focus on holding companies and their agencies.
- Build relationships with media planners, buyers, programmatic and investment teams, and senior media leaders.
- Identify new opportunities through outreach, networking, meetings, and industry events.
- Turn account segmentation and mapping into clear sales and outreach plans.
- Manage and develop an initial team of three BDRs, with the potential to grow the team up to 6-10.
- Improve sales processes, strategies, and best practices for the Smart Supply business development function.
- Partner with Revenue, Growth, Strategy, and other internal teams.
- Represent AI Digital at client meetings and industry events, with regular travel to key markets.
What You Bring
Must-have
- Minimum 4 years of experience selling into major holding companies and navigating agency structures.
- Experience managing and developing a business development or sales team, ideally with 3–4 direct reports.
- Strong business development or sales experience in ad tech, programmatic advertising, digital media, or a related field.
- Proven success generating new business and building a sales pipeline.
- Strong understanding of media planning, buying, programmatic, and investment teams.
- Ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and key decision-makers.
- A proactive hunter who can create and execute effective sales strategies.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Willingness to travel regularly.
- Based in the Chicago, New York, or Los Angeles area.

Hiring Flow
- Screening Interview (up to 45 minutes): initial conversation with a recruiter.
- Initial interview with the hiring manager (up to 30 minutes): a meeting with Cole Crawford to assess team fit and discuss role-specific responsibilities, expectations and workflows.
- Interview with SVP of Revenue Operations and Business Development (Up to 30 minutes): meet with James Long for an in-depth discussion of your experience and skills.
- Final interview with CRO.
- Offer: if successful, you’ll receive an offer to join our team.
